RE: Dead links
It's also called Broken links. It's a hyperlink that does not work or unavailable due to the following reasons: the target file is missing, has been moved, or has no public read permission.

RE: Dead links
Simple, links that don?t work anymore as the url could have been moved, changed or deleted.

RE: Dead links
Hello
Broken links is a link that points to an invalid web document. Broken link is caused by faulty URL that points to a page that doesnt exist. In other words, the page with that URL is not uploaded to your server so that it cannot be accessed by the visitors.
To prevent broken links, you must run a broken link check after uploading the site. It takes a few minutes for the broken link robot to scan the site. If the page has a lot of links, it will take a longer time to scan them. The free broken link checker can only be used to detect broken link on a specific page.
In order to optimize your site to become SEO friendly, your site must have no broken links. If the search engine finds out that there are a lot of broken links on the site, it will not index it. Search engine only wants to recommend sites that are useful to the visitors. They dont wants to recommend a site with poor navigation. Sites with poor navigation will cause the visitors to become annoyed. If you want to increase the conversion rate of your site, you must make sure your site has good navigation.
Thanks
