If you want to know about the new updates about your site (backlinks/indexedpages) then just subscribe to the URL: http://www.google.com/alerts and you will get an e-mail whenever you get a new backlink or indexpage in google..!!!

are you talking about when they release the back links, or are you saying like, as soon as it finds a link to your site it will email you and tell you?

I have already setup it. But I dont sure whether they alert when we first receive a backlink. I am receiving alerts for older backlinks. I think they are emailing when Google find the backlink.
