Link building is the key for an effective SEO campaign. This works best for PR and SERP. 1) Directory Submission - here you can find 1500 free directories list
2) Blog and Forum Postings - one small advice : keep away from spamming , you'll need to respect both glog rules and also those forums rules where you post.
3) Social Bookmarking - very powerfull
4) Classified Ads - I personally avoid those, because most of them are no-follow, and all have expiring dates .. you can have a classified ad for 3-4 days or 1 month.
5) Article Marketing and article submission - pretty effective
6) Buy direct links - but be carefully, Google hates that and you can get penalized.
7) Link exchange with other related websites. But don't exaggerate. Reciprocal links tend to be less and less usefull
8) 3-way link exchanges. It's really working. You (or the other guy in the deal must have 2 websites.
9) Use press release
10) Link baiting - you have to know what are you doing here

Yes it is true; link building is the key to effective SEO. Proper off page optimization would let us have nice SERP. Relevancy in building back links would make a lot of difference.

We can say link building do 75% work of SEO.

On page optimization is just a way give proper name to your site.

But off page optimization (link building) is main factor and with link building you can achieve your target.

these really pull up the rank of your site

Exactly true…Relevant backlinks would certainly help a website in driving targeted traffic. But, one should make sure to maintain consistency and relevancy while building these back links.

Which gives highest weightage?

From the following Submissions which gives highest weightage? Which is best method for getting backlinks? Forum posting / Directory submission / Article submission /Blog Posting.

Just wanted an opinion.
