Word from inside MSN says that they are going to be making a real push to gain search market share for Q3 & Q4 2005. Apparently they recognize that they are laying lead eggs instead of golden ones in search even though they have tremendous leverage through their Browser. The MSN Beta that went live at the beginning of the year resembles Google and their goal is to be a real player in the search market arena. It is no secret that they are going to implement their own version of Adwords soon even though they signed a deal with YSN through 6/06.
Solidifying natural positions in MSN now may pay off nicely in the next year or so if they succeed in gaining share.
