RE: XHTML validator?

That firefox add on would be pretty slick, if it weren't for the blasted firewall at my office blocking it from downloading. AAAARRRRGGGHH!

RE: XHTML validator?

Hi,
…sr/sp15/k-search-print-2.1.951.css" />
The sequence can be interpreted in at least two different ways, depending on the DOCTYPE of the document. For HTML 4.01 Strict, the '/' terminates the tag '). However, since many browsers don't interpret it this way, even in the presence of an HTML 4.01 Strict DOCTYPE, it is best to avoid it completely in pure HTML documents and reserve its use solely for those written in XHTML.Please visit this site:validator.w3.org

RE: XHTML validator?

In HTML the content of script elements is magically CDATA, so & doesn't mean "Start of an entity" inside a script element in HTML.

XML doesn't let you do that. So in XHTML script elements & DOES mean "Start of an entity".

Assuming you are pretending your XHTML is HTML (which you have to do in order for it to work in Internet Explorer), the solution (as required by the specification) is to put your script in an external file.

RE: XHTML validator?

It is not illegal but it is not a good practice wither . However some of the time a page may be valid and then the standard or validation tool gets updated or revised and it will make a page invalid as well.
